Our goal with the King of Kings Lutheran School’s preschool program is to assist parents in helping their child make a smooth transition from home to kindergarten. The children will take part in many different age-appropriate activities to give them experiences and a solid base for their future years in school. We will also provide many kinds of spiritual, physical, mental, and social experiences for the children. All trainings and instructions will be designed with Christ at the center.
We offer two-, three-, four-, and five-day enrollment with half-day (from 8:00 AM to 11:45 AM) or full-day options (from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM) for children aged three to five.
Children will be given daily opportunities to learn about their Savior, Jesus Christ, through Bible lessons, chapel, prayers, and a Christian learning environment. King of Kings Lutheran Church preschool provides a developmentally appropriate program that is age-appropriate, as well as individually appropriate. Our curriculum is based on the HighScope educational approach, which supports children’s learning through active involvement in direct, hands-on experiences with people, objects, and events.
Our learning environment is arranged in clearly defined interest areas where children can learn and explore.
The areas include:
Mrs. Dawn Goetz
Preschool Director and Teacher
Dawn Goetz is our preschool teacher. She studied Early Childhood Education at Fullerton College right here in sunny California. Dawn has also worked as an instructional aide for the Garden Grove Unified School District in K-6 education for 19 years.
Mrs. Maeta Breese
Certified Pre-K Teacher’s Aide
Maeta Breese grew up in Costa Mesa, CA. King of Kings has been her church home for most of her life. She attended King of Kings elementary school and went on to attend California Lutheran High School.
While attending Concordia University–Irvine, she worked for catering companies and ended up at Ruby’s Diners’ corporate offices. In 1991, she married Mike Breese and was blessed to have four beautiful children and stay home with them during their early years. She began aiding King of Kings preschool in 2013 and loves helping teach these littlest of lambs. She is continuing her early childhood education at O.C.C. with an Associate Teacher permit being the goal.
She enjoys spending time with family and friends, relaxing on beach days, camping, and playing Candy Crush.
